Chase Bryant realized it was cool for a guy to wear pink as soon as he learned of Elvis Presley’s famed pink Cadillac. But it was guitars, not cars, that consumed Bryant’s every thought as a child. And he dreamed of one day picking his own pink six-string.
“I was the kind of kid who people would say, ‘You’re never gonna make it.’ I didn’t give a damn about school,” remembers the Texas native. “In math class in junior high, I would rush through these tests and then flip it over and draw ‘Guitar Center’s Chase Bryant Signature Guitar.’ It was a left-handed body, right-handed neck, Tele-style guitar. And a teacher said, ‘This guitar will never get you anywhere. Math will.'”
