The story behind Chris Lane’s “Fix” turns the typical “Story Behind a Song” story upside down. The country newcomer says his vocal performance wasn’t inspired by the song. In a way, the opposite was true.

Lane and his producer went searching for a song like “Fix” when Joey Moi heard him singing the high falsetto part of an Usher song one day. They had nothing like “Fix” on the record at that point.
