“I grew up singing in church. I graduated in a class of 22 kids. It’s an itty, bitty town,” Drew says. “We have a song on the album called ‘Dirt On Us,’ and it’s about my best friends and how we grew up in our small town. There are some really cool lines that hit home. We have another song called ‘Tractors Don’t Roll,’ and that’s about how I grew up on Sundays. It’s a big farming community where I come from. My grandfather was a farmer, and the preacher was a farmer. So on Sundays, none of the tractors rolled. Everybody went to church and then would go home and spend the day with your family. It was your day off.”
He says the project will mix country themes with a danceable beat.
