“Kristian was in New York recently with his guitar tech’s fiancée Evyn Mellichamp, helping to pick out her dream gown for TLC’s Say Yes to the Dress when the opportunity to put the experience into words arose.
“It is the most fascinating thing—when I went to be on the episode, I had no idea what I was walking into,” he says. “In retrospect, I’m so glad I didn’t know because I think the experience of coming at it so naïve helped. I was like, ‘I’m happy to be here! Where are we? What is this? Tell me everything.’ Because I’m curious, and curiosity can be contagious. I can confidently say I had never [shopped for a wedding dress] before, and I didn’t understand all the different pieces to it. It’s this weird Cinderella, try-on-the-shoe-till-it-fits kind of thing.”
